How to Run a More Efficient Marketing Campaign
Marketing success can be difficult to define. You do many different marketing activities, but many of them will indirectly lead to sales. In general, your marketing efforts should lead to an increase in client acquisition and retention. But how can you improve your efforts? Try these three tips.
Use Targeted Strategies
If you want to connect with customers, you’re going to need to send messages that are tailored to them. There are many ways to divide your customers up into segments. You can divide them up by age, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, hobbies, likes, dislikes, etc. You can also divide them up based on their past interactions with your business. A past customer that bought an expensive piece of equipment from you may be interested in a care package that will protect their investment. They might also be interested in more accessories for that equipment. Sending ads for these items will be much more successful than sending ads about the equipment they already own.
Pay Attention to Cost
Not every strategy that gets you new customers is a good strategy. You need to compare the cost of your marketing campaign to the potential profit. It’s not just about getting the most views for your ad. Views are only useful if the viewers are potential clients. For example, running a TV ad on your local station might not be as expensive as a YouTube ad. But, if your ad is about a senior home, then many of your viewers will be young people who aren’t looking for your services. Running a YouTube ad might be better if it is targeted to viewers that live in your location and have family members that are seniors.
Use Social Media
Social media can be an incredibly powerful marketing tool. Social media marketing is very effective because people spend so much time on it. It’s estimated that the average person spends 75 minutes on social media a day. It’s a platform built off people liking, disliking, and sharing their opinions. That is the perfect environment for your business to learn about its customers. You can also harness the power of sharing to win yourself some free advertising. Social media competitions are increasingly popular. All you must do is offer an entry for a free product or discount in exchange for a like, follow, or share.
At the end of the day, you need to ask yourself these questions. What do I know about my target customer? What will get a positive reaction out of them? If you can answer those two questions, you’re on the right track.
